  1. This episode kept me up all night laughing! I love the pod. And holy SHIT!!! When you guys were talking to Dennis, talkin about how he had to rebuild after the fire and everything, I had this image in my head of like, some dude with a couple spinner racks, a few magazines loosely scattered upon a dirt floor to cover piles of feces. I never considered you were one horrible misstep away from being buried under a thousand pounds of paper.
On a lighter note; I hope one day my beard is as badass as yours Bry. Mine seems slow to go beyond 2 inches.
Thanks for the awesome pod. Much hetero man-love.

  2. Another awesome podcast guys! You guys weren't kidding when you said Dennis had a shitload of magazines. But I totally want to check his collection out! Looking forward to next Friday already!

  3. Are Walt's eyes closed to protect himself from the awesomeness of the foam rubber?

  5. having these pictures makes the show 10 times better, thanks for posting them. Im a thrift store/flea market junkie myself, so I totally get it. looking forward to part two of the flea market saga!

  6. Love the podcast. I think at one point Walt said something about the interviews being the best part, but I disagree. I think you (Bry) absolutely nailed the format, playing just a bit of the interview and then commenting on it. I was laughing so hard I kept having to rewind because I'd miss so much.

It was also cool to hear Walt's thoughts about running a comic book store, and what his kids think about it. Good stuff.

  7. Nothing of Tina-X?

Great ep. I'm getting convinced the spinoff is better than the original.

  8. This is the funniest podcast I've ever heard. I was painting the house today and almost fell off my ladder because I was laughing too hard. I'm also convinced the spinoff is better than the original. Keep it up guys. Longer the better. I was amazed that 3 hours had gone by when that pod wrapped up. Felt like 20 mins. Awesome.

  9. Guys, these are getting better and better. You are starting to supercede SMods for me. This episode is the best thus far...and long. Fuck that guy who hates short podcasts.

  10. It's awesome to hear how Bry and Walt have grown as show heads, and this episode is by far one of the best I've heard, period. Keep up the fantastic work!

  11. This episode had me crying, I was laughing so hard. Bryan and Walt, you 2 are priceless each and every week. I love this show. I'd roam around a flea market with the 2 of you any day. Absolutely hilarious!

  12. I made the mistake of listening to this cast at work, with head phones.

laughing out loud every few seconds had coworkers wondering if I snapped.

"Trapped under a pile of "Cat Fancy's"" that slayed me to tears.

Listened to the cast again at home.

Thank you guys for this great cast! I look forward to it every week.

  15. I have to say, Kevin owes you guys. I was an avid listener to SModcast for years but eventually got kinda bored with it. Then I found a rouge episode on my BlackBerry that featured you guys and listened to it when stuck in traffic, it made he laugh so hard I went looking for more episodes and found Tell 'Em Steve Dave. You totally rival SModcast in terms of hilarity and it reminded me why I love SModcast so I started listening to Kevin and Scott again.

Also, the "My dad's not alive" line almost made me piss myself.

  16. I am going to be honest here-

I listened to Smodcast for a years and when it came up on the RSS feed- I listened to it almost immediately.

I listened to the first half of the first episode of Tell'em Steve Dave and deleted it (maybe I was just being pissy- I couldn't get into it). I got it again a few days later and listened to it- and 'got it' the second time.

Now- Tell'em Steve Dave is the podcast that gets listened to right away- taking priority over Smodcast. You guys are high-larious and the Makin Hay show was gold. Not to many things are laugh-out-loud funny, you guys are in every episode. Keep it up. Also- keep your show fleshlight-free, they are great for sponsoring Smod, but it's getting old listening to Kevin rant and rave about fucking a fake pussy (or asshole).

  17. Just finished listening to the 2nd part of Making Hay and thought it was a classic! There were so many outstanding moments that I find it hard to list them all but one of my favourites hapened while Q was having his reading done by the "psychic" and as soon as she mentioned an older woman, I hear Walt in the background cyr "MILF!" with quite a bit of enthusiasm. Fantastic. The section with Frank 2 was hilarious too, especially when you kept asking him the most inane questions after he revealed he had been in Dachau (spelling?). One of my favourites there was the "food" moment. Well done guys. It was like having 3 weeks' TESD all in one luscious package.

  18. I've got echo Doug Gentry's comments. I'm a long time SMOD listener but TESD has now replaced it as my #1 podcast. Have to agree on the Fleshlight point as well. I'm glad Kev and Scott have a sponsor to help offset costs, but the endless Fleshlight references could stand to be scaled back a bit.

  19. At least you didn't tell Frank 2 that it was like an oven outside. Love the pod. It got me through almost an entire work day. Walt has come into his own. We're getting to see a side of him that we didn't get to see before.

  25. I am WICKED loving your podcast! The flea market pod was so much fun to listen to, and can be heard again and again without boredom! I'm psyched for you all, because you seem so down to earth and frickin funny!!! Stay on it, you will be successful!
I would LOVE to offer a suggestion, that I hope you will embrace. You did so well as 'field reporters' that I think you could find other topics to report that would be 'out of the box'. I am from New England, and our ideal place to take a road trip is Cape Cod. The most colorful place in New England is by far PROVINCETOWN which is located at the tip of the Cape. It is known for it's 'Gay Community' and the things you would see there are so random and would make for a great conversation! Even if you just spent a 3 day weekend you could easily get 3 pods out of it! It's an extremely 'family friendly' place as well so Walt can bring the whole famn damily!!!
Google it, think about it...I'm just gonna say one thing: DRAG KARAOKE!!!

  26. Love the podcast, but these photos reveal one Bryan Johnson to be a bit of a liar. For all his self-deprecating talk about being overweight these photos reveal him to be, well, not. Maybe it's just the massive ZZ Top beard tipping the scales?

    I dig it though.
